Working with the Human Rights Defense Center, O’Melveny challenged a North Texas jail’s censorship of publications that educate incarcerated individuals about their legal rights. Before the court ruled on a preliminary injunction request, the jail agreed to change its mail procedures—a meaningful step toward protecting access to information and First Amendment free-expression rights.
